Christi & Ian campaign for a better life in gaming escapism than the one voted for in the General Election 2017. This episode we delve into the murky depths of dirty rally mud pools, vampiric vanquishings and windy wipeout waverings! Poke fun at us for our glistening pre-E3 rambling predictions, and then return to Overwatch for a lootbox or two!
Christi and Ian slather themselves in follicle oil and pontificate on the game gluttony we seem to be caught up in at the moment. We climb the dizzy heights of interactive storytelling, point our LIDAR into the darkness before us and immerse ourselves in 360 degrees of freedom and wistful use of a couple of clown noses on a futuristic sticks. Join us on this adventure, and lather up for a good time!

Christi and Ian become a bit rowdy in this episode when we get all giddy because it is “Mass Effect Day”, and theres a bit of gushing about the Switch, it’s games, and the overwhelming number of good games to play at the moment. Ian is sick of diddling all the diddlies and is desperately trying not to PSVR any time soon. Christi references Dark Souls, Ian mystically chants the word “roguelike” several times in an desperate effort to get others to join his cult.

We dibble and we dabble, discussing our 2016 belated yearly review giving out our top 5, and we then look to the future and get all giddy about the upcoming titles in 2017. So much cost, so little time, so many consoles. First world problems.

Christi and Ian make a comeback, and tackle the phase shift that has taken place since our last episode. We see a darker side to the future of civilisation and then waffle on about games as a distraction.
We wipeout, hack, drone and mech our way through the hordes of the zombie apocalypse, leaving you agog with awe at the virtual immersion. Finally we push an @ symbol around some corridors and search for the lost amulet of Yendor. Rounding off with Christi’s new found love for comic artistry.
We are the cyber-technopriests, they will come…

Christi and Ian take the plunge into Virtual Reality, leaving all sense of self behind. Strap on your visor and wiggle your waggly sticks! We take on the Alien Horde, and play dress up along the way. As well as introducing a new section to the show, entitled “Christi’s Crowdfunders”, leading to a totally new game funding concept of the “Christifunder”! Pushing the boundaries of reality and fiscal support for new titles!

As an experiment, I have conjured the power of the magic lantern and cobbled together the first “proper” Laserbeards Lightshow.. a true audio-visual experience for those who have time to bathe in the laser light of the bearded ones..
The Laserbeards celebrate their first guest with a revealing interview with fellow beard-meister Richard Wood of Stormcloud Games, developers of the newly released action dungeon crawling homage to ASCII roguelikes, Brut@l.
Either side of the Interview, Christi and Ian jibber jabber about other games, including the little known sepia coloured space walking simulator No One’s Sky. (More accurately the Zeitgeist culture shaking procedurally generated No Man’s Sky),
Join us, but beware this week is filled with a too much over-excitement and can be a bit “sweary” at times.
